Aristolochiaceae – Birthwort Family

Plants in the Birthwort Family (Aristolochiaceae) are aromatic perennial herbs, woody vines, lianas, shrubs, and rarely trees with simple, alternate or spiral, entire, often heart-shaped leaves, bisexual, bell-shaped, terete (cylindrical and tapering at both ends), urceolate (urn-shaped), or pipe-shaped flowers, and capsular fruit with numerous seeds.
