grandiflora Common Name: Arizona Poppy, Arizona Caltrop Flower Color: Orange to yellowish orange Plant Type: Herb, Annual Height: To 3 feet (91 cm) tall Date Observed: August 18, 2002 & August 21, 2004 Notes: The up to 2.5 inch (6 cm) wide flowers have 5 petals with dark orange bases and veins. The leaves are opposite and pinnately compound with paired, oval leaflets. The stems are hairy. This common flower blooms in the summer and can be found growing along roadsides and in sandy washes. |
