ovata (P. insularis) Common Name: Desert Indianwheat, Desert Plantain, Blonde Psyllium, Indian Plantago, Isabgol Flower Color: Light tan to dirty white Plant Type: Herb, Annual Height: 6 inches (15 cm) tall Date Observed: March 20, 2004 Notes: The flowers are on shorter terminal flower spikes than those of P. patagonica. The plants are covered in fuzzy, white hair at right angles to the stems and leaves. The leaves are narrowly linear and basal. The edible seeds are used as a source of soluble fiber. |
