wrightii (Perezia wrightii) Common Name: Brownfoot, Perezia Flower Color: Violet pink Plant Type: Herb, Perennial Height: To 3 feet (91 cm) tall Date Observed: April 19, 2004 Notes: There are 8 to 11 flowers in each 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) wide flower head. The flowers are followed by seeds with tan-colored bristles. The simple leaves clasp the stems and are dark green, oblong, and have rippled, spiny-toothed margins. The flowers bloom anytime from January to June and attract butterflies. |
