linearis Common Name: Narrowleaf Four O'Clock Flower Color: Pale pink to magenta Plant Type: Subshrub, Herb, Perennial Height: To 3 feet (91 cm) tall Date Observed: April 30, 2005 Notes: The funnel-shaped, 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) wide flowers have 5 lobes and 3 long stamens that are often coiled within the flower. The leaves are opposite, grayish green, narrowly linear, and up to 3.9 inches (10 cm) long. This spring and summer wildflower is usually found at elevations above 4500 feet (1372 m). |
