Name: Phaseolus angustissimus Common Name: Slimleaf Bean, Slimleaf Limabean Flower Color: Rose pink to pink-violet Plant Type: Vine, Herb, Perennial Height: Sprawling to about 1 foot (30 cm) tall Date Observed: September 3, 2005 Notes: The pea-like flowers have a distinctive coiled keel (as do those of other Phaseolus species). The flowers are followed by large bean pods. The dark green leaves are pinnately compound with 3 narrow, lanceolate leaflets. Depending on rain and location, it blooms from May to October. |
