coccinea Common Name: Scarlet Spiderling, Red Spiderling Flower Color: Magenta red Plant Type: Herb, Perennial Height: Trailing to 3 feet (91 cm) long Date Observed: May 8, 2004 Notes: The tiny flowers have 5 lobes and are clustered in 1/4 to 1/2 inch (6.4 mm to 1.3 cm) wide flower heads. The green leaves are oval to lance-shaped and opposite with leaf pairs of unequal sizes. This trailing, sticky plant forms large mats and has a long blooming season (April to November). |
