The 3 inch (7.6 cm) long flowers are in showy terminal clusters and they attract hummingbirds. The flowers appear before the plants leaf out and are followed by large, brown pods with large, attractive, highly toxic, red beans. The green leaves are divided into 3 fan-shaped leaflets. |
