Notes: The 1/4 inch (6 mm) wide flowers are clustered in axillary racemes and have 4, purple-streaked lobes, 2 stamens, and 1 stigma. The edible leaves are bright green, hairless, sessile, and often clasp the stems. V. arvensis has hairy leaves, and V. americana has petioled, non-clasping leaves. It grows in streams.
