auritum Common Name: Blue Fiestaflower Flower Color: Bluish violet Plant Type: Weak vine, Herb, Annual Height: To 2 feet (61 cm) long Date Observed: March 26, 2005 Notes: The drooping, bell-like, 1.2 inch (3 cm) wide flowers have 5 lobes with dark spots at their bases. The red-edged calyx lobes are alternately bent forward and back. The pinnately lobed leaves have winged petioles and clasp the stems. This plant has weak, sprawling stems and is covered in curved hairs. |
