Name: Linum pratense Common Name: Meadow Flax Flower Color: Very pale blue Plant Type: Herb, Annual Height: To 16 inches (41 cm) tall Date Observed: March 20, 2004 & April 12, 2004 Notes: The flowers have 5, narrowly fan-shaped petals, styles shorter than the stamens, 5 arrowhead-shaped anthers, 5 spherical stigmas, and deeply nodding flower buds. The leaves are linear to lanceolate. It has narrower petals, shorter styles, and grows at lower elevations than the similar L. lewisii. |
