Notes: The 1/8 inch (3 mm) wide flowers have 5, blunt-tipped lobes and 5, white-spined sepals. The flowers are followed by nutlets with hook-tipped spines. The dried nutlets adhere to clothing and fur. The leaves are green, hairy, and linear, lanceolate, or spatulate. The stems are hairy and erect.
