Notes: Poisonous. The 5 inch (13 cm) wide flowers have 6 petals. The horns on the flower bud sepals are covered with numerous spines. The spiny, toothed, pinnately lobed leaves have very spiny margins and angular lobe tips. A. gracilenta has fewer, but longer spines and sepal horns with only 0 to 2 spines.
