acerosa Common Name: Desert Zinnia, Wild Zinnia, Spinyleaf Zinnia, White Zinnia Flower Color: White rays, yellow disks Plant Type: Subshrub, Herb, Perennial Height: To 1 foot (30 cm) tall Date Observed: August 24, 2002 & March 31, 2004 Notes: The 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide flower heads have 4 to 6, white, petal-like rays surrounding the central, yellow disk flowers. The leaves are stiff, grayish green, and have sharp tips. It blooms twice a year, once in the spring and again after the summer rains. |
