divergens Common Name: Spreading Fleabane, Layered Daisy Flower Color: Opens lavender pink, turns white Plant Type: Herb, Annual, Biennial Height: To 18 inches (46 cm) tall Date Observed: March 6, 2004 Notes: The flower heads have nodding flower buds and are surrounded by multiple layers of slender, non-reflexed rays that turn lilac when dry. The basal leaves soon drop off. E. arisolius has erect flower buds and reflexed rays, and E. lobatus has persistent basal leaves and white rays that dry to dark blue. |
