neomexicana Common Name: New Mexico Plumeseed, Desert Chicory Flower Color: White rays, no disks Plant Type: Herb, Annual Height: To 20 inches (51 cm) tall Date Observed: March 19, 2004 Notes: The 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) wide flower heads have square-tipped, 5-toothed rays. The rays are fewer and broader than those of R. californica and there are no tack-shaped stem glands as with Calycoseris wrightii. The leaves are pinnately-lobed. |
