Notes: The flowers are star-shaped, 5-lobed, 3/8 inches (10 mm) wide, and followed by round, spiny, green melons 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter. The leaves are green and palmately-lobed with 5 to 7 lobes. This native vine has a very large underground tuber and grows in washes and canyons.
