vulgare Common Name: Horehound Flower Color: White Plant Type: Subshrub, Herb, Perennial Height: To 3 feet (91 cm) tall Date Observed: April 10, 2004 Notes: The small flowers are in whorls at the leaf axils. The leaves are 1.5-inches (3.8 cm) long, opposite, petiolate, deeply wrinkled, and oval in shape. The square stems are greenish white and covered in woolly hairs. This cultivated, medicinal herb was introduced from Europe and has become naturalized. |
