wrightii Common Name: Wright's Thimblehead Flower Color: White Plant Type: Herb, Biennial, Perennial Height: To 3 feet (91 cm) tall Date Observed: September 18, 2004 Notes: The 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) wide flower heads have white or purple-tinged bracts. The leaves are alternate and dissected into narrow lobes with rolled under edges. The lower leaves are larger and more numerous. This native wildflower grows above 4000 feet (1219 m) and blooms in the summer and fall. |
