bellioides Common Name: Mojave Desertstar Flower Color: White to pale violet-pink Plant Type: Herb, Annual Height: To only 2 inches (5 cm) tall Date Observed: March 26, 2005 & March 12, 2005 Notes: The flower heads are 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) wide. The leaves are green, linear, and hairy. This spring wildflower is common in years with good winter rains and can carpet patches of the ground along with Antheropeas lanosum. The similar M. bellidiforme is found in western Arizona. |
