linaria Common Name: Pineneedle Milkweed, Pine-Needle Milkweed, Needle-Leaf Milkweed Flower Color: White Plant Type: Subshrub, Herb, Perennial Height: To 5 feet (1.5 m) tall, but usually less Date Observed: April 16, 2005 & January 29, 2005 Notes: The clustering flowers have pink buds and 5 reflexed petals with an erect hood extending beyond the central column. The seed capsules are teardrop-shaped and 2 inches (5 cm) long. The linear, pine needle-like leaves densely line the stems. |
