umbellata Common Name: Bastard Toadflax Flower Color: White Plant Type: Subshrub, Herb, Perennial Height: To 16 inches (41 cm) tall Date Observed: May 21, 2005 & April 17, 2005 Notes: The star-shaped, 3/8 inch (10 mm) wide flowers are in clusters at the stem tips and have 5, point-tipped lobes and a greenish center. The leaves are green, fleshy, alternate, lanceolate, and generally sessile. This hemiparasite of nearby plants grows at elevations above 4000 feet (1219 m). |
