brachysiphon (Telosiphonia brachysiphon) Common Name: Huachuca Mountain Rocktrumpet Flower Color: White to tinged with pink Plant Type: Subshrub, Herb, Perennial Height: To 2 feet (61 cm) tall Date Observed: August 25, 2007 & Sept. 22, 2006 Notes: The 3 inch (7.6 cm) long, tubular flowers are nocturnal, very fragrant, and have 5 oval lobes. The flower buds are pink. The 2 follicle fruits are 5 inches (13 cm) long and covered in red fuzz. The leaves are oval, green, and opposite. It blooms in the late summer. |
