The 6 1/3 inch (16 cm) long, tubular flowers are nocturnal, held erect, and have a glabrous corolla with short lobe tips and a purple-streaked throat. The rounded fruits are spiny, drooping, minutely hairy, and contain black seeds. The leaves are alternate, broadly oval-shaped, and coarsely toothed. |
