Notes: The flower heads are up to 5 inches (13 cm) across and have yellow rays and red-brown centers. The seeds are edible. The leaves are green, triangular to heart-shaped, and up to 1 foot (30 cm) long. The leaves and stems are covered in stiff hairs. This native plant is highly variable and hybridizes easily.
