Notes: The up to 2 inch (5 cm) wide flower heads have multiple, stacked layers of up to 40 three-toothed rays. The leaves are alternate, pinnately-lobed, and mostly basal. Both the leaves and the stems are grayish and woolly. This native, desert wildflower has a long blooming season and is very common here.
