multiradiata Common Name: Desert Marigold Flower Color: Yellow disks and rays Plant Type: Herb, Annual, Biennial, Perennial Height: To 18 inches (46 cm) tall Date Observed: March 5, 2005 & March 18, 2005 Notes: The up to 2 inch (5 cm) wide flower heads have multiple, stacked layers of up to 40 three-toothed rays. The leaves are alternate, pinnately-lobed, and mostly basal. Both the leaves and the stems are grayish and woolly. This native, desert wildflower has a long blooming season and is very common here. |
