oleraceus Common Name: Common Sowthistle Flower Color: Yellow Plant Type: Herb, Annual Height: To 5 feet (1.5 m) tall, but usually less Date Observed: February 16, 2004 Notes: The dandelion-like flower heads are 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) wide. The flowers are followed by fuzzy, white seeds. The leaves are large, pinnately lobed with a triangular tip, and not spiny unlike those of S. asper. This introduced European weed grows much taller than a Dandelion. |
