humistratus Common Name: Foothill Deervetch, Hairy Deer Vetch Flower Color: Yellow with some orange Plant Type: Herb, Annual Height: To only 1 inch (2.5 cm) tall Date Observed: March 13, 2004 Notes: The flowers are tiny and pea-like. The leaves are green, hairy, and subpinnate or palmate with usually 4, oval, point-tipped leaflets. These low-growing, mat-forming, native plants are common on rocky slopes and flats. They are similar to but much hairier than L. strigosus var. tomentellus. |
