glandulosa (Coursetia microphylla) Common Name: Rosary Babybonnets, Samota Flower Color: Yellow keel and white banner petals Plant Type: Shrub, Perennial, Deciduous Height: To 20 feet (6 m) tall Date Observed: April 3, 2004 Notes: The pea-like flowers have reddish sepals and are 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) long. They are followed by 2 inch (5 cm) long seed pods. The leaves are pinnately compound with oval leaflets. This native shrub blooms in March and April in canyons and on rocky slopes. |
