physocalyx (Sida physocalyx) Common Name: Buffpetal, Tuberous Sida Flower Color: Light buffy yellow Plant Type: Subshrub, Herb, Perennial Height: To 16 inches (41 cm) tall, but mostly trailing Date Observed: September 21, 2005 Notes: The 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) wide, 5-petaled flowers have petals equal in length to the green sepals. Each flower and fruit is contained within a large, inflated, 5-ribbed calyx. The leaves have toothed margins and are alternate, oblong to lanceolate, and stiffly hairy. |
