Ferns are non-flowering vascular plants with true leaves in the Division Pteridophyta. Fern leaves are known as fronds, and they uncoil from tight spirals known as fiddleheads. Ferns can be found in a wide variety of habitats here in southeastern Arizona, including in the desert.
