Southeastern Arizona Desert Plants

Here in southeastern Arizona, desert vegetation is generally found below 4000 feet (1219 m) in elevation in the Sonoran Desert and below 5000 feet (1524 m) in elevation in the higher elevation Chihuahuan Desert to the east. The typical vegetation of the Sonoran desert near Tucson is desertscrub and it includes small, thorny trees and shrubs, Ocotillos, Saguaros and many species of cacti.
