Ephedraceae – Mormon-tea Family

Plants in the almost worldwide Mormon-tea Family (Ephedraceae) are mostly dioecious shrubs or clambering vines with jointed branches, simple, scale-like, often ephemeral leaves, and compound pollen cones and seed cones with overlapping, papery, membranous, or fleshy bracts in whorls at the stem nodes.
