Fouquieriaceae – Ocotillo Family
Plants in the Ocotillo Family (Fouquieriaceae) are spiny shrubs or trees with terminal clusters of tubular, 5-lobed flowers with 5 sepals, fruit in the form of a capsule, and small, simple, alternate, glabrous leaves. The primary leaves are followed by spines and the secondary leaves are clustered at the base of the spines.
